Come join us EVERY 2nd and 4th WEDNESDAY for a variety of fun skills building games, socialization and practice. Each month will feature a different game or theme to keep things fun, fresh and interesting!

This event is open to all experience levels.  Those new to kayaking come just to try it out.  Beginners use this time to practice skills and control, and to meet others to paddle with.  Experienced paddlers enjoy the skills-building games.  Parents bring their kids to kayak in a safe, controlled environment.

Kids of all ages love kayaking.  To them, a kayak is like a big floating water toy!  Many kids associate kayaking with learning to drive, because of the freedom and responsibility as well as the mobility and control they acquire.  Kayaking is also a perfect social activity for kids, as it get them outside, away from video games and around others kids with similar interest.

While this event is open to anyone, the emphasis should be on uniting families and creating an opportunity for kids to paddle.  Please sign up only if you're bringing kids along with you.

Not only is this a great way to build your skills, it's also a great way to meet other kids and families to paddle with.

What to expect:
8:15 - 8:30pm; Arrive and unload gear
8:30 - 8:40; sign in, pay entry/use fee, change clothes, enter pool
8:40 - 9:00; warm-up & practice
9:00 - 10:20; Pool divided. 1/2 for games, 1/2 for recreational use

See you there!

A quick note about times:

We realize the time is late for many kids, which is why we chose Jnue as Kids month vs. a month when school is in session. The city pools are available to us only after-hours, so we hope your kids can rest a little before the event, come join us for an awesome time in the pool, and sleep well after the event.

You guys rock!!!  I couldn't wait another minute to tell you how much fun the girls had last night!  What a great lesson!  We didn't even need the games because they enjoyed what they were doing so much.  One of the coolest things was seeing girls who were a little bit timid, feel comfortable enough to try things that they normally wouldn't have tried.  What a great time!  Well done all!

My girls were Brownies. From a leader perspective, I wanted to see something fun, and that would build confidence. This was one of our first real "outings" as a Girl Scout. I was looking for something "different", something with a sense of adventure/out of the ordinary (something they don't do everyday) but controlled and safe. I also wanted something a bit challenging - physically, but also something they hadn't done before, something that would build confidence. This really fit the bill perfectly. They didn't' want to get out of the pool!
