Guide & Instructor Candidate Application

Everyone gets into paddling for their own reasons. What is most appealing to you about becoming an instructor? Why do you most want to become an instructor?
Do you have any additional certifications, credentials or experience that is applicable for a guide or instructor candidate? EMT, First Aid, Wilderness First Aid, Wilderness First Responder, Rescue 3, Raft Guide, other types of guide certifications, etc. We actively recruit fire-fighters and other first responders, NOLS / Outward Bound alumni and Outdoor Retail sales associates. Please list related experience. If accepted into the Guide Training module, you will be asked to provide references.

Provide a detailed description of the types of kayaks, canoes, rafts, SUP or other paddlecraft which you consider yourself capable and competent in teaching others.
Provide a detailed description (make and model) of each type of boat or board that you currently own.
Provide a detailed description of how many days you paddle.
Provide a detailed description of your favorite places to paddle. Include names of rivers, sections of rivers, lakes, beaches, etc.

The following Instructor Courses are offered by the American Canoe Association. NMKI currently specializes in all areas of kayaking, with plans for expansion into other areas of paddlesports.
